Denim days...Xx

If I could..I would wear denim everyday of the week.  In a previous job I even used to buy women's denim as a category for a big brand retailer which was truly a dream job come true for me..surrounded by jeans; trying on jeans; fitting jeans and all day long buying jeans.  These days I am surrounded all day long by really good quality denim; well fitting jeans; fun jeans and even a little bit crazy out there jeans..and I have to say I love it.

There's a chill in the air...Xx

This week is going to be cold in Melbourne..14 degree's!! Now that is cold.  I'm not too concerned though as I am surrounded by gorgeous warm and toasty knitwear and jackets...and a few scarves thrown in too.  Good knitwear and outerwear is a bit of a balancing act..it needs to be functional (ie it needs to keep you warm) but at the same time you want to look fashionable and fabulous and let's be honest not too frumpy.  Morrison have perfected the balance this Winter with great shapes, blends, colours and styles that are guaranteed to keep the chill at bay while keeping you looking smart and oh so chic.

School holidays...I just love them, why? because my gorgeous niece Daisy is not at school which means she is readily available to come over to T&G and play dress ups with her Aunty.  Today we played around with three of the hottest looks out there for this coming Winter..hope you have as much fun looking at them as we did photographing them. 1. The Athletic trend..I really love this look (stylish and oh so comfortable - what a combination!) 3. Ladylike..(but it could also double as the current trend for wearing what looks like pj's as outerwear).  Worn altogether this looks Absolutely Amazing!! but the beauty of these classic pieces is they're just as fabulous worn as separates. Imagine wearing the jacket back with your favourite pair of well worn denim jeans..Hello! The above picture is from Phillip Lim's latest collection with all it's gorgeous sugary sweet hues and easy to wear sports feel in elegant silk cami's and softly draped blouses.  Delicious..

A look that I am really coveting this Winter is Modern Monochrome..to me this look is eternally chic and one of the simplest most versatile and polished looks to work into your wardrobe..especially using black and white.  To keep things interesting play with your silhouettes; add in a pop colour highlight or mix your textures..that way you won't feel like you're playing it safe. 

Loving this modern Bianca Jagger look..Daisy is wearing Morrison Tux shirt $399 under Morrison Tux Jacket $569 worn back with Museum Leather shorts $240.  For those of us who aren't going to wear leather shorts - you can simply replace them with a pair of Morrison black dress pants; Genetic silk jeans or an amazing pair of Gat Rimon Jodhpurs. 

Modern monochrome..Daisy wears LIFEwithBIRD Heart of Stone silk shirt $360 back with Something Else Butterfly pants $229.95 (love the gorgeous cut out detailing on the leg)..and for a pop of colour we've added Jam Squared neon cuff $60.

This is one of my favourite looks at the moment..a printed statement pant! It's such an easy look for transeason worn with a silk tank like we've done here with sandals as well as in Winter teamed back with a tailored jacket or denim shirt thrown on top and a pair of ankle boots.
