The other day I happened to find an old visual art diary of mine from 2005..which was filled with pictures and articles I had cut out from various fashion magazines with my hand written notes accompanying each.  All of the pictures were relating to my dream of one day opening my own styling boutique..shop fit outs I liked; changing room ideas I thought were cool; possible light fixtures etc etc...but above all else were references to the labels I, if given the chance, would like to house in my dream space! x  There on page one was an article I had cut out titled The Stylists..about a new design duo - Lill Boyd (now Jenner) and Anna Hewett who had earlier that year launched their swimwear label Anna & Boy..next to the article a younger me had written "*this would be a fantastic label to get...a nice change from tiger lily.  Call them to see who stocks them in Melbourne."...hmm no offence Tiger Lily but a good observation by the younger me.


Six years later and just as wise..I am so thrilled that next week we will be receiving our first delivery of Anna & Boy at Tiger and Goat. What I loved then about the brand has only strengthened over time..their bold signature prints are still amazing and fun; the styles are feminine and oh so sexy and the girls only use the highest quality of fabrics.  In answer to that younger me..who stocks them in Melbourne..we do. xxx

I am in LOVE...
I know I know I am constantly falling in love with this jean or that pair of shoes but this time I'm serious it's real love!  How amazing is this skirt from Sass & Bide's SS11 Boogie & The Historymaker collection.  Actually the entire collection which was inspired by treasures found at flea markets in Paris (how brilliant) is absolutely fabulous and has me saving my pennies for nearly every piece.  
First purchase...A New Strength skirt.

Only one more week to go before our first delivery of LIFEwithBIRD's Ten Times Mine Spring Summer 2011 collection..and I for one am hanging out for the divine transeasonal pieces that will give my Wintery wardrobe a much needed spring in it's step. I have my eye on most all (let's be honest) of the divine styles that will easily slot into and enhance my current outfit selections. Last night a beautiful customer took advantage of shopping after hours on her own at Tiger and Goat receiving one on one service and fashion advice. I love my job xxx

I have always been passionate about my Buying roles over the years and have certainly always loved elements of my job..but until recently I could never say that "I love my job!" full stop.  That is until now. 


There are so many positives to owning your own business - even before you look at the fact that you are living your dream...for instance I get to see my family so much more now that I am not constantly heading overseas or up to my eyeballs in stressful meetings and I love the fact that I am now able to walk my two crazy adorable dogs every morning for 50 minutes rather than jump in my car to drive for that long down the highway to work...


But these are only some of the more routine reasons why I love my job....there's also the remarkable fact that I get to source amazing labels both Nationally and Internationally to house in Tiger and Goat and sometimes get to meet with the clever people that make up said labels.  This was the case yesterday when I met up with the gorgeous Jo Gibson, a kindred spirit, who is the Brand Manager for Western Australian label Morrison. 


A little research into the label and you can see why we feel Morrison is a perfect fit for Tiger and Goat.  Named after their loyal dog Morrison xx the husband and wife team have created fashion that is a balance of classic simplicity; effortless elegance and timeless beauty.  The brand lists Love, being Natural, Trustworthy, Passionate and Inspirational as their key company values and if Jo is anything to go by they are living up to their promise.  Furthermore the garments are designed and made in Australia with love which is a big tick for me...and after viewing their high Summer range yesterday which showed at RAFW in Sydney this year I am totally hooked.

I'm mad for boots...any kind..ankle; knee length; flat; heeled; black; tan; red (I'm wearing my red ankle boots as I type); khaki with silver dots (yep I have a new pair just like this)! You name it and I will no doubt love them and probably even own a similar pair in my extensive collection of well loved booties.  To me they're just so versatile and fabulous..they can be worn with anything and always, always (in my opinion of course) finish a look perfectly.  So you can imagine how I am literally counting down the days (18) till LIFEwithBIRD's Stone Maiden Wedge boot are delivered to Tiger and Goat.
